Kyuongsung UBF Summer Bible Conf. Report, Korea ¡°For God so loved the world.¡± John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Kyuongsung UBF partook in a Summer Bible Conference July 22-25 at Sukmyeong Women¡¯s University Training Institute. We prayed for 300 attendants and 50 new students. We had a daily evening prayer meeting for the conference and went out inviting students. The total attendants for the conference were 191 including 55 new students from Kyuongsung 1 and 2 along with Incheon UBF. We praise and thank God, who heard our prayer and blessed our conference. The conference began with an opening message delivered by Hong-Il Suh entitled, ¡°Freedom for the prisoners¡± based on Luke 4. His message revealed our conference theme and for people to be set free from spiritual oppression, blindness and imprisonment. In the evening, there was a John 14 message with the title, ¡°Jesus is the way, the life and the truth¡± delivered by Seungjae Houng which was followed by a life testimony. Newly at this conference, we decided to have life testimonies shared from someone from every fellowship. Missionaries and second generations from the USA, Belarus, Canada, Russia, Sri Lanka and Sweden shared their life testimonies. After testimony sharing, we had a joyful welcoming night program led by John Whang, Isaac Park and Jieun Her. The second day began with morning devotion at eight in the morning. Before the morning devotion, we had free time for an hour, which helped us to concentrate on God¡¯s words. Isaac Park delivered a morning devotional message entitled, ¡°I am the vine¡± which was humorous and graceful. Wongyu Chung spoke on John 3 with the title, ¡°God so loved the world¡± His message was the main title and theme of the conference, and we had all one spirit and mind to receive God¡¯s grace through his message. In the evening Taeho Shon spoke on Mark 8; ¡°You are the Christ!¡± A JBF choir and orchestra performed special music. JBF in Kyuongsung participated in the conference by serving the orchestra. Towards the end of the performance, everyone together got up, sang and praised God joyfully with the choir. On the third day morning, Giho Park delivered a morning message based on John 9, ¡°One thing we know.¡± I was very impressed by the students who began to open their hearts toward God¡¯s words and who became friendlier to each other in the words of God. The second main message was served by Dongwon Lee with the title, ¡°It was finished¡± Jesus¡¯ proclamation of the work of the salvation on the cross revealed God¡¯s unfailing love toward sinners. Each main message was supported by well prepared mono dramas and movie presentations, which was directed by Taejin Kim and which moved the hearts of all the attendants. In the evening, there was a Genesis special lecture by missionary David Jo from Chicago. He taught us Abraham¡¯s simple faith and obedience toward God, who gave him vision. Missionary Hanna Oh from Belarus shared a graceful mission report. During the last night of the conference, there were fantastic world mission dance s performances such as a worship dance by freshman year students, a Scandinavian dance, a Spanish dance, a Hawaiian dance and a Muslim dance. The junior leaders who participated received a loud applause and finally all the attendants danced together singing a song entitled, ¡°Oh! So Hot!¡± At the end, a drama was preformed based on the C.S. Lewis novel ¡°The Screwtape Letters.¡± Suwon Chun, Barnabas Hahm, Caleb Kang and Sanghui Jung performed like professional actors and Matthew Lee, who grew as a mature coworker through this conference, acted well with Paul Kim Jr. On Sunday, we had a communion service. Firstly, freshman received communion and accepted Jesus as their savior. After that, we all participated in the communion service to remember God¡¯s salvation grace and to renew our hearts to Jesus. The third main message was delivered by Yongmin Yaung with the title, ¡°The truth will set you free¡± His message brought our conference to a conclusion. This conference was full of grace and truth that we all were longing for. We praise and thank God, who accomplished all of his wonderful works through this conference. We pray that God may bless those who accepted Jesus as their savior and that they may grow as disciples of Jesus.
